Children and youth mental health is certainly a critical factor in the success of our society. I am involved to ensure that they have access to the resources available to them.

Mental illness affects all of us at some point in our lives. I have decided to get involved with the Foundation to actively participate to raise awareness.

Because mental health is not only the absence of mental disorders but a state of well-being through which we can fully accomplish ourselves as individuals. It is therefore essential to talk about it and eliminate the stigma associated with it. Together, let’s support research to help us better understand our mental health.

People like me who suffer daily from a mental health disorder are stronger than you think. They go to work, take care of their family and are there for their friends while fighting every second of their lives. Health does not exist without mental health, we need to talk about it.

Mental illness affects all of us directly or indirectly. Over the years, I have seen many people very close to my heart who have suffered, and I believe it’s essential to raise awareness and provide the necessary support to help the people affected.

Much effort remains to be done in changing our society’s opinion of mental health. The subject is complex, suffering is often invisible and unique to everyone who suffers from it. I am proud to contribute with the Foundation in the hope that soon our society will be comfortable talking about mental health as openly as other aspects of health in general.

Almost 10 years ago, my father left us. He fought against depression all his life and he finally lost his battle. That’s why I became involved with the Fondation de l’Institut Universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal, which raises funds to support people with mental health issues. I sincerely believe that, by talking about these problems and working together to demystify those prejudices, people will be more inclined to seek help and we can save more lives.

Nurturing mental health is something we must prioritize in order to ensure that we have a society full of individuals who have all the tools they need to succeed in both their personal and professional lives. It is therefore essential for me to contribute to the present and future success of future generations.

I have chosen to get involved with the Foundation because I want to see research improve to better understand, prevent and, where possible, eradicate the disease. I believe that this cause affects everyone, directly or indirectly, and I would like the public to be more and more aware in order to reduce the stigma towards those affected by the disease. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, burn-out, or other mental health issues, nobody is immune to it and that is why I believe in the importance of getting involved with the Foundation.

The fight against stigma requires education and awareness. I am involved so that anyone suffering a mental health disorder at some point in their life is not afraid to break the silence and seek help.

I want to contribute to the freedom of speech about the reality of mental health disorders. This is a reality that affects us all. Because speech is the first essential step towards wellness.
